We Are Your Neighbors: Joseph Foreman, Farfield, Local 3018

ABOUT JOSEPH:
My wife Kelly & I have three grown children, two college graduates, and a college senior. Kelly and I have been in Boy Scouts, Little League, sports booster clubs, and the local youth wrestling club. My wife volunteers for the local no-kill animal shelter and serves on the dog park committee. We've both served on the board of directors of little league and the sports booster club. Our children also have volunteered for various groups.

WHAT JOSEPH DOES:
My job is a career that I trained for in college and that I continue to learn about.  It's my responsibility to maintain radio systems, telephone systems, and the computer network in 18 counties.  My customers are DOT law enforcement, DOT garages, DOT offices, airports, and county treasurer's offices.  I'm on call 24/7.  I've been out in the middle of the night in an ice storm and have driven in many snow storms to perfrom my work in an emergency.

WHAT DOES JOSEPH'S JOB MEAN TO HIS FAMILY AND HIS COMMUNITY
Haveing my professional state job has benefited my family and community.  Having a profession has shown my children that having a post high school education produces a gratifying career and monetary rewards.  We've been able to help our children with part of their tuition.  My technical support of communications and networking ensures that the processes that the citizens of Iowa depend on are performed more efficiently and securely, wheter it be the safe highway system, the safe motor vehicle enforcement, the secure driver's license process, or the accureate issuance of plates and titles.
